We invite you to introduce other families to Beavers Academy. As a token of appreciation for your support, when your referral leads to a new student’s enrollment, your child will receive a complimentary school uniform or Friday wear, along with a gift bag filled with educational goodies. Beavers Academy Admission Guidelines

Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions for your child’s future. At Beavers Academy, a Grade ‘A’ rated institution, we embrace a Montessori approach enriched with materials from Ghana, the UK, and the US.

We provide a stimulating, nurturing environment with bright, airy classrooms designed to encourage early learning. Our academy caters to children from 3 months to primary school level, with plans for future growth.

New Admissions:

  • Registration Fee: GHC 100.00
  • Registration Form can be obtained online or from the office administrator
  • Child’s original Birth Certificate and Weighing Record
  • Parent ID (i.e. Ghana card or passport)
  • Payment of the Full Term’s Fees.

 

Academy Fee:

 

  • GHC 1,200.00 is the termly fee.
  • Full payment of fee is required within the first month of each term.
  • Beavers Academy Fees: covers, Tuition, Maintenance/Equipment/Breakages, Rent, PTA and Utility.
  • Non-compliance to payment of fees will result to the child remaining at home until payment is made. Please note that there will be no exception to this requirement.
  • 1st Child – Full Payment

2nd Child – Full Payment

3rd Child – Half Payment

 

Daily Schedule: (Operating Hours)

 

  • Open: 6:45 AM
  • Close: 3:30 PM (Latest collection: 4:00 PM)
  • After-care Service: GHC 10.00 per hour after 4pm

 

Assembly Time is 7:40 am:

 

Our assembly is an important start to the day so every effort should be made to ensure your child/ren arrive on time to take part.

 

Birthdays: (Please note Birthday celebrations are optional).

 

If you wish your child to celebrate their birthday at the Academy, it will be done with the children in their class. Please bring along the necessary birthday goodies, which is optional (i.e., cake, drinks etc.). Photographs of the event will be taken and sent via personal WhatsApp.

 

Uniform, Clothing and Hygiene:

  • Academy Uniform should be worn daily and Friday wear to be worn on Friday’s.
  • Black shoes and white socks.
  • Change of clothing to be placed in your child’s bag.
  • A labelled bag with enough spare clothing, diapers (if applicable), pack of wipes, face cloth, single sheet/cloth etc. should be in the child’s bag daily.

Toiletries

  • 1 Pack toilet roll, washing soap (bar or powder) and Dettol or disinfectant at the beginning of each term.

Feeding and Water:

  • Durable water bottle is required.
  • Feeding fee can be paid weekly or Monthly at the start of the week.
  • I bottle top up is available throughout the day.
  • Children can bring their own snack (i.e. biscuit, drink, fruit etc.)
  • For babies and younger children, parents to provide Formula milk or baby food, which would be exempted from the daily feeding fee. If they eat food provided by the Academy, payment will be required.

Sickness and Absence:

 

  • In the event of sickness or absence of your child, please inform the Office.
  • For infectious illnesses, children must stay home until symptom-free.
  • Please provide an accessible contact number in the event of an emergency.

PTA (Parent Teacher’s Association):

  • Termly meetings (non-attendance fee: GHC 30.00 without an apology)

Health and Safety and Hygiene

 

  • For safety, hoop earrings should not be worn. Please use small stud
  • Safe practical hairstyles for girls and neatly cut hair for boys.
  • Short, clean fingernails and toenails
  • Please inform your child’s class teacher if your child has a disability, an allergy, use their left hand or any other information that could affect their learning.

 

Workbooks:

  • A list of books and other required classroom materials (i.e., folders, exercise books, pencil case, crayons, eraser, pencils etc.), will be issued for purchase at the beginning of the academic year.

 

Homework:

  • If your child is given homework which is usually 2-3 times weekly for the pre-school. Parents are required to support their child, provide oversight, and return the homework to the class teacher for marking. Homework will only be issued if the previous ones are returned.
  • Please do not do your child’s homework for them, as it delays their learning.
  • Please make time and read to your child at least 10 minutes each evening, as this will go a long way with their vocabulary and communication skills.

 

Toilet Training

 

  • We would encourage parents to actively start the toilet training process at home, which we will also promote in school.

Safeguarding:

 

Beavers Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the Welfare of all its pupils. The Academy has a child protection policy and a duty to ensure that children’s well-being are ensured and that they are safe on our premises at all times.

Under no circumstances will Beavers Academy participate in any type of corporal punishment.

Complaint, Compliment or Comment

 

  • Please remember to compliment the teachers if you are satisfied with the progress of your child.
  • If there is a complaint, speak firstly to the class teacher and if unresolved, report to the Head of Academy.
  • Please contact the Head of the Academy with any comment, compliment or complaint, so that we can provide a better service for all our children and parents.

 

Termination of Placement

 

  • The Academy has the right to terminate a child’s placement for persistent non-payment of Fees or for inappropriate behavior on the part of a child or parent to bring the Academy into disrepute.
  • If you wish to terminate your child’s placement, please provide at least 2 weeks’ notice in writing.

 

COVID-19:

 

  • Health and Safety protocols will be followed daily.
